The Way of Becoming ✳︎ Meeting Your Personal Tao

A Day Long Retreat for Women in Nevada City, California

Saturday, October 24, 10am - 5pm

at the Octobarn at Moss Village

You hold so much. Come, let yourself be held — by earth, by the land, and by a supportive circle of women, as we explore gentle, embodied pathways to soften, listen, and return to presence.

Through Taoist, somatic, and earth-based practices — Somatic Painting, Taoist Inner Alchemy, Chi Nei Tsang Self-Massage, and Taoist Feminine Alchemy — we'll orient our bodies in relationship with the natural world and with our own becoming.

✳︎

Finding Our Ground and Orientation to the Natural World
Together, we'll orient the body in relation to something far greater than the individual self — we'll remember our bodies are woven into the wider natural world and ecosystem around us. We'll find ground: within ourselves, with each other, and with the land itself.

✳︎

Conversations with the Body and Life
Through gentle somatic practices using touch, breath, movement, sound, and loving attention, we'll open pathways for deeper listening with the body and the life force moving within and around us. We'll slow down enough to come into close and meaningful contact with the body, with each other, and with life.

✳︎

Meeting the Inner Teacher and Your Personal Tao
From this ground, from this deepening contact with the body and with life, something begins to shift: we start trusting what we already carry. Through returning to practice with devotion, we find our way of becoming — more fully alive in our essence, living from our personal tao.

✳︎

The Way of Becoming is for you if:

…..you have an immense capacity to hold others, and long to be held yourself

…..you sense a deeper connection with the body, earth, and your true essence is calling you

…..you sense that healing happens more fully when it's oriented to the natural world

…..you're in transition, or standing at a threshold

…..the rhythms of your body are changing, moving into a new phase

…..you're wanting to create a more loving relationship with your body

…..you're wanting to make space for your own becoming

…..you're ready to devote yourself to a personal practice

…..you long to hear your own Inner Teacher/Guide/Healer more clearly

✳︎

You leave the day with: a deeper, more loving relationship with your body. A clearer orientation to the natural world. Simple, powerful practices and tools to support an ongoing, gentle return to yourself — grounded in Taoist wisdom and somatic practice, and carried forward on your own Way of Becoming, toward your Personal Tao.

✳︎

You will also take home:

handbook of practices, so you can return to the practices on your own

somatic painting that you create that captures your personal tao

wooden gua tool, for continued gua sha practice at home

An herbal belly bundle, to support your Chi Nei Tsang self-massage

What People Are Saying ᐧ

“My journey with Katherine has been such a gift. It has allowed me to connect with parts of my body that are often overlooked in traditional massage. Learning how to perform these techniques on my own belly felt incredibly empowering.

When I started, I was hopeful this practice would help me connect with my belly in a way I don’t think I ever had before—but I was blown away by just how deeply it has changed our relationship. The way Katherine guides us into the practice is incredibly gentle and caring, and it all flows so naturally. Thank you so much, Katherine. I know I have so much more to learn from tending to my belly—and this feels like just the beginning.”

Katherine’s teaching style is one of quiet devotion, and in this loud world, that feels like a big thing to me. Katherine brings this sense of integration and coherence all the way from the content of her teachings into the way that she shows up, and that helps me to feel held in the practice. The coherence in these teachings helps me along my own journey of coherence and integration inside of myself.
